Admissions in government schools are increasing, says Minister

Enrolment of students in government schools has been on the rise since the DMK came to power, said Adi Dravidar Welfare Department Minister M. Mathiventhan in Namakkal on Thursday.

Participating in the centenary celebrations of the Anna Salai Government Higher Secondary School at Rasipuram Municipality in the district, the Minister said that as one of the best initiatives in the School Education Department, centenary celebrations were taking place in government schools. Earlier, the number of students admitted to the government schools had reduced. But, in the DMK regime, the admissions were on the rise at government schools.

“During the inspection, we found the government school students in Rasipuram speaking English fluently, equal to the private school students and proving their ability. Due to the steps taken by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and the importance provided to school education, the standard of students studying in government schools has increased. The centenary celebrations are conducted to honour the former students who have achieved in many sectors,” he said.
