HYDERABAD
TPCC chief B. Mahesh Kumar Goud said that the Delhi election results, which dealt a significant blow to the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), were due to AAP convenor and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s “self-inflicted mistakes”.
He said that the AAP government’s ‘involvement’ in the liquor scam and Mr. Kejriwal’s refusal to form a poll alliance with the Congress, inflicted a major blow to the party.
“Mr. Kejriwal’s association with the BRS is the main reason for his downfall. Allegations of his involvement in liquor business with KCR’s daughter K. Kavitha have tarnished his image, contradicting his party’s corruption-free ideology,” he added.
The Congress leader also noted that Mr. Kejriwal’s decision not to form an alliance with the Congress was a major mistake. “By contesting separately, the anti-BJP vote was split, ultimately benefiting the saffron party.”
