Lack of adequate parking area at the newly inaugurated Tiruchi Birds Park is a cause for concern as it is built on the Tiruchi-Karur National Highway.
Opened amidst much fanfare, the aviary seeks to bring out tourists and locals alike to the park. On the opening day, not all visitors carried back pleasant memories. Some said there was inadequate space to park vehicles on the premises. They had to park the vehicles adjacent to the Tiruchi-Karur National Highway, one of the busiest roads.
“The park is built on a busy stretch of the road. Many heavy vehicles and speeding buses often take this route. In such a scenario, it would be difficult to find space to park vehicles as many would bring their families to relax at the park. We would have to park adjacent to the national highway or on the way to Ayyalamman Padithurai which is also narrow. We urge the authorities concerned to take immediate steps to create adequate parking space,” said G. Gopal, a visitor at the park.
