The Butchayyapeta police on Thursday (February 6) arrested a private school teacher for allegedly behaving inappropriately with a girl pursuing Class IX, on February 5, in Anakapalli district.
As per the police, the 14-year-old girl had come to attend a private class in her school on February 5 evening, where her teacher allegedly took her to a room and misbehaved with her. When the girl raised alarm, the teacher fled from the school. The school servant took the girl to her house and informed the matter to the parents. Based on the complaint from the parents, the local police arrested the teacher from the school on February 6. He was produced before the court, which sent him in judicial remand.
Superintendent of Police Tuhin Sinha said that sessions about ‘good touch – bad touch’ are being conducted in every school. He said that ‘She-Teams’ and police patrolling vehicles will always be available nearby the schools and colleges to keep a check on eve-teasers. The SP also said that if students face any inconvenience they can contact the local police.
