Thaazhaiyooththu police have arrested a person from Thoothukudi district when he tried to break an automated teller machine (ATM) and take the money in the early hours of Monday.
The police said that passers-by noticed him breaking the ATM and alerted the police, who rushed to the spot and nabbed him. He was identified as Duraipandi, 52, of Thaathankulam in Thoothukudi district. After registering a case, the police arrested him.
