The police found the tobacco products in two cars in Thoothukudi on Thursday.

Thoothukudi police arrested four persons who were allegedly transporting 450 kg of banned tobacco products meant for sale on Wednesday.
As per the directions of Thoothukudi Superintendent of Police Albert John and under the supervision of Additional SP C. Madhan, the police conducted a vehicle check near Tiruchendur roundabout on Thoothukudi — Thermal Nagar Road. They intercepted two cars and found the tobacco products in them. They seized the tobacco products and the cars.
They also arrested the four occupants of the vehicles — V. Vasamuthu, 23, C. Mahesh Selvam, 35, K. Govindarajan, 23, and G. Gandhi, 21, all from Thoothukudi. Thoothukudi South police have registered a case and are investigating.
