After a long pause, 412 police personnel working in Kanniyakumari district have been transferred within the district through an open counselling process.
The open counselling process was conducted in Kanniyakumari district for police personnel serving in the same station for more than three consecutive years. The exercise was conducted under the supervision of Superintendent of Police R. Stalin, and the orders were issued on Tuesday. The transferred personnel began reporting to the new stations on Thursday.
Among the 412 officers, 171 were Special Sub Inspectors of Police, including seven women, 223 head constables and 18 grade-I constables were transferred.
Speaking about the transfer, Mr Stalin said the process was conducted transparently through open counselling. Senior personnel were transferred to the nearest location to their residences. The applicants were also given the opportunity to choose their preferred locations. “I have granted transfers to your requested locations. The only thing I expect in return is that you serve the people with honesty,” the SP said, while addressing a meeting organised for newly transferred personnel.
